Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Market Capitalisation Friday appreciated by US$946.03 million (N151.36billion) to close the week.
This indicates that Market Capitalisation closed at N8.907 trillion (US$55.66 billion) compared to a depreciation 0f N90.94 billion (US$568.43 million) recorded the previous week to close at N8.75 trillion (US$54.72 billion).
The above figures shows that listed Equities appreciated by 1.73% to close at N8.907 trillion.
According to the NSE’s Stock Market Report for the Week Ended December 28 2012, a turnover of 571.077 million shares worth N5.246 billion in 7,579 deals was recorded this week in contrast to a total of 1.293 billion shares valued at N13.725 that exchanged hands last week in 20,499 deals.
The Stock Market opened for three days as Tuesday and Wednesday were declared Public Holidays to celebrate the Christmas and Boxing Day.
While the NSE All-Share Index appreciated by 1.69 percent (1.69%) to close at 27,866.51.
