ECONOMY: GDP of Sub Nationals Highlights Need for Diversity; Consumers Positive on Economic Outlook

In the just concluded week, National Bureau of Statistics released the 2013–2017 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) current data for 11 states in Nigeria.

Of the 11 states profiled, Cross River recorded the highest economic growth with a 140.31% rise over the four year period to N2.31 trillion in 2017 while Oyo, Ogun, Kano, Zamfara, Osun, Kaduna, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states’ GDP grew by 63.40%, 62.21%, 58.01%, 56.97%, 49.06%, 33.15%, 24.76%, 21.40%, 19.25% and 5.11% respectively to N2.51 trillion, N2.81 trillion, N2.97 trillion, N1.1 trillion, N1.47 trillion, N2.69 trillion, N5.14 trillion, N5.11 trillion, N3.16 trillion and N4.06 trillion respectively… Kindly click here for details.
