Intraday Update: Nigerian Equities Up +0.32% on Gains Across Sectors

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-The Nigerian equities market as at midday Friday is up +0.32 percent on gains across sectors.

InvestmentOne update says market movers are Wapic Insurance Plc and Veritas Kapital Plc; both are up +10.00 percent and+10.00 percent each, while Jaiz Bank Plc and Africa Prudential Plc are down -3.77 percent and -1.02 percent respectively.

In terms of sector performances, InvestmentOne reports the Banking and Oil & Gas sectors appreciated +0.70 percent and +0.37 percent each, the Industrial and Consumer Goods indices are up +0.14 percent and +0.09 percent apiece.

The update says market activity in Friday’s early trade, shows that total volume and value declined by 23 percent and 27 percent respectively compared to this time on Thursday as investors have exchanged about 90 million units of shares worth about N954 million.

Top tier lender, Zenith Bank Plc with a loss of -0.46 percent is the most actively traded stock with 16 million units of shares accounting for about 17 percent of total volume. 

“Likely close: In the absence of a significant loss in DANGCEM, the market may close up today if the gains in most sectors persist,” the InvestmentOne update affirmed.
