In preparation for the market commencement of trading of future contracts in July 2019, the Nairobi Stock Exchange has organised a two (2) day Comprehensive Derivates Training.

The comprehensive derivates training seeks to enhance the skills and prepare all stakeholders to prepare for the commencement of derivates trading. The training is scheduled to hold on 27th and 28th of June 2019.

Interested stakeholders are encouraged to sign up for the training.

According to available information on the Nairobi Stock Exchange website on derivatives, it stated thus that ‘NEXT is the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) derivatives market that facilitates the trading of futures contracts in the Kenyan market. NEXT is regulated by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA)’

It was established as a result of:

  • Increased integration of the Kenyan financial markets with international markets;
  • Increased volatility in asset prices in local and international financial markets;
  • The need for more sophisticated risk management tools and strategies;
  • The need to broaden and deepen Kenyan financial markets.

Also, it enables you to trade the followings:

  1.      Equity Index Futures
  2.      Single Stock Futures
