MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Up +0.03% on Gains in Consumer Goods Counters

Market movers: MBENEFIT (+4.76%), FCMB (+4.58%), BERGER (-10.00%), CILEASING (-9.17%).

Sector Performances: Consumer Goods (+0.18%), Banking (-0.15%), Industrial (-0.02%) and Oil & Gas.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value declined by 66% and 83% respectively compared to this time yesterday as investors have exchanged over 46 million units of shares worth about N425million. FBNH is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 21million units of shares accounting for about 46% of total volume. 

Likely close: In the absence of a significant loss in DANGCEM, the market may close up today if the gain in Consumer Goods sector persists.
