July 9, 2020/Fitch Ratings
Fitch Ratings has been recognised again as the most transparent credit rating agency in Environmental Finance’s Sustainable Investment Awards. The winners were selected by an independent panel of asset owners. This is the second year that Fitch has won the award, which was established in 2019.
In its awards citation, Environmental Finance noted that the judges were impressed by Fitch’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) scores, as well as the expansion of names and asset classes covered; Fitch publishes and maintains over 150,000 individual environmental, social and governance relevance scores for the entities and transactions it rates.
Fitch is the only credit rating agency with a comprehensive, systematic and credit-focused approach to displaying sector and issuer level ESG credit risks via Relevance Scores, and a pioneer in the application of ESG to structured finance.
Fitch was also recognised for its in-house ESG specialists, the breadth and depth of ESG research and investor outreach. Environmental Finance has published on its website a profile of Fitch’s ESG programme that outlines its unique vision, approach to transparency, and future plans.
